"Into The City" I Go To Be Free : Your Friend Esteves Song Review
The 80s Synths Are Back!!! Can I just say how much I love that the music influence of the past is becoming very prominent in current music. Introducing "Into the City" by Your Friend Esteves a song that talks about how sometimes staying put in your own home bubble might not be the best option for you, " A segment in this land, the one I have to mind, But never will be kind to whoever kept me here." Sometimes it is better to get out of your comfort bubble and really find who you are, "Into the city I go to be free, I am young, but one day a wife, a child, a dream. I will make it on my own”. Hey, that is what I did when I moved to Los Angeles. In some way this song, in terms of melody, reminds me another song favorite of mine "Wicked Games" by Chris Isaak. Instead of the concept of love for another person, this is about self love and self growth!
